March 4 is Opening Day of the 2023 model boating season at Spreckels Lake (36th Avenue and Fulton Street) in Golden Gate Park.
March 14 is Opening Day, the first day of the model boating season at Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park. This event includes the Ragtop/Stinkpot Relay Regatta, a friendly relay competition that cleverly includes skippers and boats from the Power Squadron, R/C Sail Squadron, and Freesail Squadron. The Opening Day regatta will begin about 1 p.m. on the south side of Spreckels Lake.
The San Francisco Model Yacht Club (SFMYC) has scheduled model sailing for youth ages 10-14 on Sunday, June 23 and again on Sunday, July 21, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Spreckels Lake.
On Saturday, June 15, The San Francisco Model Yacht Club members will display and demonstrate their models powered by live miniature steam engines on Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park.
Model yachts will soon fill Spreckels Lake in Golden Gate Park, as the San Francisco Model Yacht Club’s (SFMYC) boating season opens in March and runs through October.
