If we truly want to celebrate the 150th birthday of Golden Gate Park, we should honor nature and the Park by leaving it as dark as safety allows for one year,
So the State and the City are going to spend $2.7 million on a dog run in Golden Gate Park and Sandra Fewer and Phil Ting think this is a great use of the taxpayer’s money. I disagree.

The memorial has two life-size bronze statues of characters from Cervantes’ most famous novel, “Don Quixote.” The titular protagonist and his sidekick Sancho Panza are both kneeling and looking up at a larger-than-life bust of the author.
The observation wheel will launch on April 4, 2020 and operate through March 1, 2021. It is planned for Golden Gate Park’s Music Concourse, the outdoor plaza near the de Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences and the Japanese Tea Garden.

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department commissioners voted unanimously on Nov. 21 to authorize Lifetime Activities to handle day-to-day operations of the tennis center being renovated in Golden Gate Park.
Over 1,200 volunteers are needed to assist runners for the Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, and pre-race day tasks. Several assignments are available. Each volunteer receives a commemorative long sleeve t-shirt to keep and our heartfelt thanks.
Sunset Holiday Mercantile 2019 will be held at the County Fair building on Ninth Avenue and Lincoln Way in Golden Gate Park on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14 and 15.
On Aug. 25, 2018, a solemn ceremony was held in the discreet Heroes Grove in Golden Gate Park, where the 18-ton granite Gold Star Mothers’ Rock stands more than eight feet tall, honoring San Franciscans who gave their lives in World War I. The ceremony highlighted the newly installed additional stones referenced Nov. 11, 1918, the date of the armistice, which was the inspiration for Veterans’ Day.
