Sunset District’s First Lunar New Year Celebration Held Feb.13, 2020
SF Supervisor Gordon Mar’s office organized the Sunset District’s first Lunar New Year celebration on Feb. 13 at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School. A big crowd sampled food from local restaurants, learned about various service organizations in the community and mingled with neighbors and friends to celebrate the year of the rat.
Flower Show Wows Orchid Lovers
According to the website Flowerweb, certain species of orchid can survive up to 100 years. It also claims orchids have the largest variety of flowers with the number of officially documented species standing at 25,000 plus.

The number of Real IDs issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is lagging behind projected demand. If you anticipate needing one, I advise you go to the DMV now because I expect the lines to worsen as we approach Oct. 1.

St. Ignatius Wildcats Win CCS Section 3 Basketball Championship
San Francisco’s St. Ignatius Wildcats won the Division 3championship in the Central Coast Section basketball tournament. The team defeated the Sacred Heart Academy Fighting Irish 70-66 at Sequoia High School in Redwood City on Feb 29, 2020.
