The path to a more equitable city and a more responsive government is through a stronger democracy, one that gives all people a voice in decisions impacting their lives. It has never been more important for us to invest in strengthening our democracy.

I immigrated to the bay area in 2003; in 2017, I suffered with homelessness along with approximately 8,000 citizens of San Francisco. I would not have been able to persevere through these tough times without the help of caring individuals within the community and my loving family.
Increasingly, it seems like every proposal at City Hall is meant to silence neighborhood voices and turn our neighborhoods over to the highest bidder. Meanwhile, struggling small businesses get little to no help from City Hall.
Today, San Francisco faces big challenges and I’m proud to serve our community as District 5’s supervisor – fighting for affordable housing, solutions to the homeless crisis and keeping our vibrant neighborhoods moving, clean and green.
In a city infamous for soaring rent prices and sometimes problematic infrastructure, one business owner has found complete peace. Her name is Marjorie “Marge” Heard, and she found that stillness in the Outer Sunset.

In an attempt to battle the rising rent and the housing crisis, the California legislature passed AB-1482 in September which will put a rent cap on properties statewide and make it harder to evict a tenant after 12 months of occupancy.
I hear it all the time from my neighbors and constituents on the west side: Our major arterial road, California Route 1, is in desperate need of resurfacing.
The most important endorsement is district attorney, and I repeat my even stronger recommendation of Nancy H. Tung, Esq., for that position. The other three candidates show less than stirring dedication to enforcing criminal laws and respecting police officers who perform dangerous tasks in protecting society.
