High schools in the San Francisco Bay Area are being contaminated by plastics and toxic litter from e-cigarettes, cannabis products and combustible tobacco products such as cigarettes and cigarillos, a new study by researchers at UC San Francisco has found.

We at the San Francisco Coalition to Underground Utilities (SFCUU) want to get rid of the ever-increasing overhead wires and wooden poles that that mar the views and landscapes on almost half of our streets.
Starting Thursday, August 15, traffic pattern on lower Great Highway between Ulloa and Santiago streets will be changed. Northbound travel lane on lower Great Highway will be rerouted to 48th Avenue for two blocks between Ulloa and Santiago streets. Southbound travel lane will continue on lower Great Highway as usual. This will be in effect until project completion in 2022.
The votes have been tallied and by more than 50% of the votes, option B- retain more parking, is the winning vote.
Long before children soared in the swings of the West Sunset Playground, an 1868 city map showed the San Francisco’s west portion known as the Outside Lands with numerous lots reserved for public purposes such as parks and school buildings. Only two plots were reserved for parks in the Sunset District; what became McCoppin and Parkside Squares. The rest were purchased over time.

If you are unfamiliar with Avenue 12 Gallery, it’s a gem of a space located at the corner of 12thAvenue and Lake Street in the Richmond District, across the street from Mountain Lake Park. Formerly a convenience store, the light-filled storefront was converted into a showroom for Japanese furniture and artifacts under the name TableAsia in 2005.
