Vandalism to a Vehicle, Assault on a Police Officer: 1200 Block of Irving Street, Aug 31, 12:32 p.m.

The victim, a delivery driver, reported that they had been driving and had slowed down for a stop sign when the suspect suddenly jumped onto the truck and immediately started kicking at the window. 

Responding officers detained the suspect and placed the suspect in handcuffs, despite the suspect fighting back and attempting to take weapons from an officer.  

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Burglary: 3700 Block of Noriega Street, Sept. 2, 11:08 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a burglary at a market. 

Officers arrived at the location and contacted the witness who had been following the suspect. 

The suspect was detained without incident. 

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested for an outstanding warrant, burglary and the possession of stolen property.  

Battery: 700 Block of Irving Street, Sept. 2, 10:46 a.m.

The victim reported that they had been pushing their child in a stroller when the suspect approached and attempted to slap them. The victim dodged and the suspect walked away from the victim.  

Discharging a Firearm: 2400 Block of Noriega Street, Sept. 3, 6:09 p.m.

The witness reported that the suspect had entered a bar with a firearm. 

The suspect then started tapping on a table with the pistol and appeared to be upset or angry. 

Shortly afterward, the suspect exited the building and fired a single round into the sky before walking away. 

Vandalism: 2300 Lawton Street, Sept. 4, 7:12 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of an incident of vandalism. 

The victim reported that the suspect, who was known to the victim, had attempted to pick up something, but had arrived too early. The victim denied entry to the suspect, who responded angrily and broke into the garage and damaged the victim’s property. 

Responding officers arrived at the location, detained the suspect and, after further investigation, the suspect was arrested. 

Vehicle Burglary: 16th Avenue and Quintara Street, Sept. 4, 10:49 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an auto burglary. 

The witness reported that they were driving when they observed the suspect looking into the window of another vehicle. The suspect then picked up a rock and broke the vehicle’s window with it. 

The witness followed the suspect until responding officers arrived. 

The suspect was detained without incident and, after further investigation, the suspect was arrested for auto burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. 

Battery: 2600 Block of 30th Avenue, Sept. 8, 7:18 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a battery. 

The victims, who had just finished parking their vehicle and were about to walk across the street, stated that the suspects’ vehicle suddenly passed by very close to them at a fast rate of speed. 

One of the victims responded by slapping the suspects’ vehicle. The suspects’ vehicle stopped, and the suspects exited their vehicle and an argument ensued. The suspects then punched and kicked the victims before walking back to their vehicle and leaving the area. 

Vandalism to a Vehicle: 1700 Block of 31st Avenue, Sept. 10, 9:59 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of an incident of vandalism. The witness reported that the suspect was observed throwing an unknown object at a vehicle. The witness then heard sounds of something breaking. 

Responding officers located the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was cited for vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Possession of Burglary Tools, Resisting Arrest: 15th Avenue and Judah Street, Sept. 10, 12:45 a.m.

The witness stated that the suspect was observed acting suspiciously near the perimeter of a home. 

Responding officers located the suspect and a search of a backpack, that had been nearby the suspect, revealed a window punch, wire cutters and various other burglary tools. 

The suspect refused to provide personal information to the officers and was arrested. 

Assault: 1300 Block of Ninth Avenue, Sept. 12, 2:14 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an assault with a knife. 

The victim, who had assisted employees at the bar, reported that the suspect had been escorted out of the bar after causing trouble. 

However, the suspect returned afterward and confronted the victim as they left the bar. The victim stated that after the suspect started kicking them while they were on the ground, they cut or stabbed the suspect’s hand with a knife when the victim attempted to protect themself. 

After further investigation and reviewing multiple statements, the suspect was arrested. 

Attempted Robbery: Judah Street and Great Highway, Sept. 14, 4:38 p.m.

The victim came to Taraval Station to report an incident of attempted robbery. 

The victim stated that they had overheard the three suspects conspiring to take the victim’s property. The victim confronted the suspects who then chased after the victim at a jogging pace for approximately a block before returning to their vehicle. 

Theft: Noriega Street and 34th Avenue, Sept. 15, 4:20 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a theft. 

The victim reported that the suspect, while in the passenger side of a vehicle, had pulled up next to them and asked a question. After the victim responded to the question, the suspect exited the vehicle and pulled a bracelet off of the victim’s right wrist. 

The suspect then fled the area in their vehicle. The victim stated that the incident happened so fast that they did not have a chance to react to the theft. 

Trespassing: 2300 Block of Taraval Street. Sept. 21, 9:36 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a trespasser. 

The victim reported that the suspect had suddenly emerged from the third-floor loft. The victim did not know how the suspect had gotten into the building. 

After further investigation, the suspect was cited.
