Editor:
I feel so lucky to live in the Sunset/Richmond area, I live on 27th Avenue. I love the peace
and family feeling of my neighborhood. I come back home around 10 p.m. after a long day at work. I use public transportation and 19th Avenue and Sunset are the main roads my buses ride 29 outbound towards Paul and Third Street and the 28 outbound to Daily City BART.
I’ve noticed the high speed in 19th Avenue. Ive talked to bus drivers and the response its been the same: the speed of some drivers is very high and above the limits. It feels dangerous to be close to the road or even 10 feet away, close to the wall of a house or business, there are many people walking from/to Safeway or like myself going home to rest, incredibly strange is the fact that in several nights, I have seen police cars in the area (waiting for the green light at Taraval and 19th and drivers are flying in front of them). I wondered how can be this possible!?!
No way the police cannot realize the speed limit is ignored! Please, for the sake of our community, I would like to suggest you to make a note on this subject since we all can be potentially hurt or even killed.
In deep gratitude for your noble efforts to keep informed our Richmond/Sunset community.
