Richmond Review/Sunset Beacon 
We lived two blocks from Joe’s Ice Cream on 18th Ave. In the 1950s I have very fond memories of getting ice cream with my mom when we ventured down to Geary St to stores like the 5 & Dime store, Evergreen Pharmacy and Tik Tok (that was the name of the Russian deli on Geary just off of 18th Ave, right?). I always felt privileged when I got to sit at the small counter on the right as you entered thru the front doors. I remember Joe’s hamburger special: hamburger, chips and soda for 50 cents – such a special treat when we could afford it! Great memories!!!
