‘Then and Now’: Irving Between 46th and 47th Avenues

Above: Sewer construction in 1917 looking north on Irving Street, between 46th and 47th avenues.

Below: A photo 0f the same location 105 years later. The parklet serves customers of the Hook Fish Co. Next door, at the Last Straw, Marge – who has been operating her business in that location since the early 1970s – was delighted to see the old photo and note the many changes.

If you have a historical photo of your home, neighborhood or some other part of the Sunset District and would like to submit it along with a current-day picture for consideration for publication, send an email to Editor@RichmondSunsetNews.com.
