 I am a concerned Richmond District citizen. I’m sure you are aware of the SFMTA’s plan to improve transit /public safety in the Richmond District.

The SFMTA is currently asking for additional (last ditch for concerned citizens) feedback concerning its plans.

In essence: from Park Presidio west to 28th Avenue, they plan to eliminate diagonal parking and replace it with parallel parking in order to streamline bus traffic with dedicated lanes.

My opinion is that the impact on small businesses on Geary Boulevard has not been considered. I personally have met with many business owners on this corridor and many are not aware of the planned changes. They are trying to survive after the pandemic! The SFMTA will have a pop=up meeting on Tuesday, March 15 from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 20th and Geary bus stop to allow locals to express their concerns and ask questions.

It would be great if someone could start to cover this story and help us save parking on Geary so that small businesses and churches can survive and not perish like they did on Van Ness Avenue.
