Police Blotter: Sunset District

Battery: 1300 Block of 47th Avenue, Dec. 3, 1:44 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a battery. 

The victim reported that he had been out with people known to him when one of them hit him on the head with an unknown object, which was possibly a pipe.  

Traffic Violation: 19th Avenue and Wawona Street, Dec. 4, 4:31 a.m.

Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle failing to stop at a red light. 

The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check revealed that the driver did not have a driver’s license. 

The driver was cited.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Possession of a Firearm: 3200 Block of 19th Avenue, Dec. 6, 2:12 a.m.

Officers received information that the suspect, who was on duty, was asleep in his work vehicle with the door open and the engine running.

Responding officers arrived at the location and observed a gun on the vehicle’s seat.

After further investigation and sobriety testing, the suspect was arrested. 

Assault, Outstanding Warrant: 1300 Block of 47th Avenue, Dec. 7, 12:20 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an incident regarding a suspect with a knife. 

The victim stated that there had been ongoing issues between himself and the suspect, a housemate. The suspect had stabbed the victim which resulted in small puncture marks on the victim. The victim refused medical attention. 

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested. 

Robbery: 1300 Block of 23rd Avenue, Dec. 8, 12:27 p.m.

The victim told responding officers that she was walking home from a bank visit when the suspect suddenly pushed her against a nearby wall and took her ring and necklace. 

The suspect then entered a waiting vehicle and fled the area. 

Theft: 3100 Block of Vicente Street, Dec. 8, 1:47 p.m.

The victim reported to responding officers that the suspect approached her and offered a ring in exchange for directions. However, the suspect then distracted the victim before stealing the victim’s expensive jewelry. 

The suspect immediately fled the area.

Stolen Vehicle: 1200 Block of 19th Avenue, Dec. 14, 7:51 a.m.

Officers responded to a gas station to conduct a well-being check on a vehicle that had been parked in front of a gas pump for multiple hours. 

The officers arrived at the location and ran a computer check on the vehicle which revealed that it had been reported as stolen out of Daly City. The officers contacted the suspect, who was in the vehicle, and detained her. 

After reading the suspect her Miranda rights, the suspect stated that she had observed that the vehicle was left running and got in because she was cold and wet. The suspect said she then drove the vehicle to the gas station before falling asleep in the back seat. 

After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.

Trespassing: 2400 Block of 20th Avenue, Dec. 15, 8:16 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a trespasser. 

The victim, a contractor, reported that they had discovered the suspect was trespassing the previous day. The victim confronted the suspect, who immediately fled the area. 

The suspect returned the following day and was detained by the victim and witnesses. 

After further investigation, the suspect was cited. 

Trespassing: 1500 Block of 31st Avenue, Dec. 20, 5:57 a.m.

Officers responded to a report that a neighbor’s front door had been left suspiciously open. 

Responding officers arrived at the location, entered the house and observed multiple items had been scattered on the floor. 

A search revealed two suspects sleeping inside a bedroom. 

After further investigation, the suspects were cited.  

Battery: 3200 Block of 20th Avenue, Dec. 23, 11:20 a.m.

The victim reported to responding officers that she asked the suspect to make room for her to walk by. The suspect responded angrily and began arguing with the victim. 

The suspect then pushed the victim before walking away.  

Robbery of a Residence, Entry by Force: 1500 Block of 33rd Avenue, Dec. 27, 1 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery of a residence. 

The victim reported that she was napping when she heard noises and thought that a relative had come home. However, the suspect then entered the victim’s bedroom and demanded money from the victim. The suspect searched for valuables then fled the area. 

The victim stated that a firearm was observed in the suspect’s waistband, but it was not pointed at the victim or brandished.
