Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle: 400 Block of 26th Avenue, Nov. 31, 11 a.m.

Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired. 

Officers arrived on scene and located three witnesses, multiple damaged vehicles and four victims with no reported injuries. 

Per video and witnesses, a vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed on 26th Avenue. Seconds later, another vehicle was following at a high rate of speed. An unknown suspect was hanging out of the window of the second vehicle, firing a firearm in the direction of the first vehicle. Multiple gunshots were heard. Both vehicles continued away from the scene at a high rate of speed. 

Officers conducted wellbeing checks at various addresses located on the 400 block of 26th Avenue. No one was injured in the incident.

Arson of Vehicle: Golden Gate Park, Dec. 1, 6:41 a.m. 

A suspicious vehicle fire at one of the trails in Golden Gate Park was reported. 

SFFD arrived on the scene and witnessed the rear seat of the vehicle engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the blaze. No one was in the vehicle and there were no witnesses. The license plate affixed to the vehicle came back as stolen, however the vehicle was not reported stolen at the time of the incident. 

The vehicle was towed for investigation.

Kidnapping of a Juvenile: Unit Block of Lake Street, Dec. 1, 3 p.m.

An attempted kidnapping was reported to police. 

The caller, a witness, told responding officers that a female suspect had attempted to take two children (a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old) from their caretaker. 

Officers located the suspect inside a building nearby. The victim stated that one child was in a stroller and the other child was in her arms. She said the suspect grabbed the child from her arms and took off running. 

The victim chased down the suspect and took back the child. The suspect then attempted to grab the other child from the stroller, but the child was belted in. The suspect pushed the stroller for a short distance, but the brake was on, and she ultimately abandoned the stroller with the child left inside. The suspect then entered the building where she was arrested by officers. 

Both children were uninjured and reunited with their parent who had responded to the scene.

Death: Golden Gate Park, Dec. 2, 7 a.m. 

Officers responded to a report of a deceased person in Golden Gate Park. 

A witness saw the victim and attempted to wake the victim. The victim was unresponsive and the witness detected no pulse. The witness called medics and police. 

The medical examiner is not treating this as a suspicious death.

Outstanding Warrant: 400 Block of Funston Avenue, Dec. 2, 4 p.m.   

Police received a call of an unknown suspect who was again out of compliance with his mandatory sex offender registration status. 

The subject was booked for failure to register without incident. 

Collision with Major Injuries: Point Lobos and 47th avenues, Dec. 2, 7:45 p.m.

Officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. 

The driver of the vehicle stated she was driving westbound on Point Lobos Avenue, activated her turn signal and began to turn southbound onto 47th Avenue. The front end of the vehicle collided with a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on Point Lobos Avenue. 

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with major injuries.

DUI Collision: Clement Street and Eighth Avenue, Dec. 13, 3:40 p.m. 

Officers responded to a report of a non-injury traffic collision. Officers located a collision scene involving one vehicle in transport and two parked vehicles. The sole driver was located at the scene and objective signs of drug impairment were noted. The suspect failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for a DUI. 

A certified drug recognition evaluator (DRE) formed the opinion that the subject was under the influence of a  depressant. The suspect consented to a blood draw and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital.  

Aggravated Assault with a Knife: 1500 Block of Lake Street, Dec. 17, 8:32 p.m. 

Officers responded to a call of a person with a knife. 

The victim had discovered an unknown suspect on his porch as he exited his front door. The victim asked the suspect to leave. The suspect began to argue with the victim and brandished a knife. 

The victim was holding a box and the suspect knocked the box out of the victim’s hand with the hand not wielding the knife and continued arguing. 

The suspect then positioned herself in front of the victim’s front door, preventing him from retreating back inside his home. The suspect swung the knife at the victim numerous times and made threats to harm the victim. The victim was able to get back inside his home to safety. 

Officers arrived on the scene and detained the suspect. The victim had video evidence of the incident to provide to officers. 

The suspect was booked.
