OKTOBERFEST AT UICC
The United Irish Cultural Center at 45th Avenue and Wawona Street will host its third annual “Oktoberfest by The Beach” on Oct. 16. There will be indoor and outdoor options. The UICC welcomes back the best Oktoberfest band around, “The Internationals,” to our indoor stage. There will be options for German beer and German food, games, dancers, and activities, including a stein-holding contest. This is an age 21+ event. No pets allowed. No outside steins are allowed, but we will have steins available for sale. Local Sunset musician Dan Dectis will play at Wawona Gates (outdoor dining area) before the Oktoberfest activities kick off. Organizer Mark Burke (UICC vice president) says, “The Irish Center Oktoberfest is one of the best attended festivals in the San Francisco area, and always sells out, so get your tickets early!” The event runs from 4:30 to 11 p.m. Tickets are available at IrishCenterSF.org.
