Press Release: Golden Gate Park Band Returns to the Music Concourse

From the Golden Gate Park Band:

Concerts are free of charge and take place at the Spreckels Temple of Music in the Music Concoursein Golden Gate Park.

Regular Sunday concerts start at 1 p.m. and usually end between 2:30 and 2:45. There is no intermission.

All concerts that feature music of specific nationalities or cultures include costumed guest performers, dancers, singers, and speakers who will enlighten and entertain.

We would like to thank everyone who donated to the Golden Gate Park Band during 2020 and 2021. Please accept our thanks and gratitude for your kindness and generosity. We have missed performing and look forward to seeing all of you on August 1, 2021, for the first of eleven concerts.

The band will present 11 free concerts between August 1 and October 3 in addition to Labor Day, September 6, 2021. The concerts are approximately 90 minutes in length, and program information will be posted on the GGPB website as it becomes available. The tentative schedule follows:

August 1—Welcome Back Concert

August 8—Video game music and more

August 15—Hungarian Cultural Celebration

August 22—Ukrainian Cultural Celebration

August 29—The Music of Disney/Pixar

September 5-6—Labor Day Celebration

September 12—Movies and more

September 19—Irish Cultural Celebration

September 26—Jazz, America’s Music

October 3—Season Finale
