Arson: 3000 Block of 23rd Avenue, March 24, 6:55 p.m.
The victim reported that the suspect, her son, had come over to ask for money. The victim met the suspect outside when he arrived and realized that the suspect was under the influence of narcotics.
The victim then refused to give the suspect any money and locked the suspect outside of the house. The suspect responded angrily and attempted to set the victim’s front door on fire.
Responding officers located the suspect and after a medical evaluation, the suspect was arrested.
Carjacking, DUI: 2300 Block of 18th Avenue, March 26, 11:27 p.m.
The victim, a car-share driver, reported that the suspect, a passenger, had taken his car.
The victim stated that he had two passengers and was at the drop off point when he attempted to help one of the passengers, who was intoxicated, out of the vehicle.
One of the passengers, the suspect, stated that he did not have his phone and searched the vehicle for it. The suspect was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle when he suddenly pushed the victim away and claimed possession of the car before driving away with it.
Responding officers located the suspect and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
Robbery: 1000 Block of Moraga Street, March 29, 1:39 p.m.
The victims, who were tourists, reported that they had stopped in the area to take photos when the suspects’ vehicle parked in front of their rental vehicle.
Two suspects then exited the vehicle and broke the window of the rental vehicle before stealing items that had been inside. The victim reached into the suspects’ vehicle, attempting to retrieve the stolen items. The victim was then dragged along by the vehicle.
A suspect then brandished a gun at the victim and the victim let go of their items.
The suspects immediately fled the area.
Burglary: 19th Avenue and Vicente Street, April 8, 7:12 a.m.
Officers received information concerning a suspect who was hitting a box with a sledgehammer. Responding officers arrived at the location and observed that the suspect immediately walked towards a waiting vehicle and entered the passenger’s side before the vehicle drove away.
The officers conducted a traffic stop and detained the two suspects inside.
After further investigation, it was determined that both suspects were recently involved in a burglary at Geary Boulevard and 11th Avenue.
Both suspects were arrested.
Robbery: 3200 Block of 20th Avenue, April 14, 4:31 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery.
The victim reported that he had been seated, with a second victim, on a bench when the suspect suddenly approached them and demanded their property.
The victims saw what they believed to be the bottom of a gun in the suspect’s possession and handed over their property. The suspect then fled the area.
One of the victims attempted to follow the suspect, but stopped when the suspect pointed what looked like a gun at the victim.
Possession of a Destructive Device, Arson: 28th Avenue and Judah Street, April 23
The witness reported that he had just exited his home and observed the suspect crouched by a door. The suspect then walked away from the door, which revealed that a fire had been ignited on the sidewalk and against a building.
Responding officers located the suspect, and a background check revealed that the suspect was on probation.
The suspect was arrested.
Assault, Threats, Brandishing a Weapon: 2800 Block of Vicente Street, April 28, 12:06 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of an assault.
The victim reported that he had been asleep in front of a supermarket when a known suspect started an argument and threatened to harm the victim.
The victim said the suspect then brandished a knife threateningly. The victim responded by pepper spraying the suspect.
Responding officers located and detained the suspect. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
