Police Blotter: Richmond District, May 2021

Carjacking: Collins Street and Geary Boulevard, March 26, 1:45 p.m. 

The victim parked her car and briefly got out. The suspect suddenly walked up and jumped in the driver’s seat and attempted to drive away. 

The vehicle had a manual transmission which the suspect was unable to operate. The victim got into a struggle with the suspect in an attempt to get her vehicle back. 

The suspect eventually fled the scene on foot. 

Officers located the suspect nearby. The suspect resisted, then she was placed under arrest. 

The suspect was booked at County Jail. 

Robbery with a Gun: Arguello Boulevard and Clay Street, March 24, 5:44 a.m. 

The victim was out walking her dogs and noticed a suspicious vehicle driving slowly down the street. After the vehicle turned off the street, the victim left the area and headed back to her residence. 

As she was walking up the steps of her home, four suspects approached her. One suspect pulled a gun and demanded all her money. Fearing for her life, the victim offered her phone and the suspects fled the area. 

All suspects are still outstanding. 

DUI: Geary Boulevard and Eighth Avenue, April 9, 10:04 p.m. 

Officers observed a vehicle swerving and unable to maintain a proper safe lane position. The vehicle then almost collided with the patrol vehicle as it approached to make a traffic stop. 

The driver admitted to drinking earlier in the day and smelled strongly of alcohol. Officers administered field sobriety tests, which the driver could not perform due to his state of intoxication. Officers administered a breathalyzer test which revealed the driver had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. 

The suspect was arrested and booked at County Jail.

Shoplifting, Warrant Arrest: 5200 Block of Geary Boulevard, April 16, 9:17 p.m. 

Employees at a store called police regarding a shoplifter. The suspect filled her bags with merchandise and left the store without paying. 

Officers arrived and employees pointed out the suspect as she fled the store. A records check revealed the suspect had an active arrest warrant for robbery and possession of stolen property. 

The suspect was arrested and booked at County Jail.
