Robbery, Parole Violation, Resisting Arrest, Outstanding Warrants: 3600 Block of California Street, May 18, 12:45 p.m.

A suspect entered a store and stole several items. When confronted by the victim, the suspect produced a pair of scissors, pointed them at the victim and said “Get the f— away from me.” 

The suspect then fled the store. The victim followed the suspect out of the store as he called police. The suspect then turned around and pointed a can of pepper spray at the victim and again cursed.

The victim still followed the suspect, but from farther away, until police arrived and detained the suspect. The suspect initially gave a false name to officers.

The suspect was eventually positively identified. A records check revealed he had a no-bail warrant for burglary and a warrant out of Alameda County for drug-related offenses.

The suspect was arrested and booked at County Jail.

Burglary, Conspiracy, Possession of Stolen Property: 1800 Block of Clement Street, May 21, 6:23 p.m.

Two suspects were involved in a store break-in. One of the suspects threw a rock at the front store window, breaking the glass. Both suspects made entry, stole a large box of lottery tickets, and fled the scene.

The business owner showed officers video of the incident. Officers canvased the area and located suspect one a few blocks away. Suspect one was in possession of a large amount of stolen lottery tickets.

Officers located the stolen box, containing additional stolen lottery tickets, a short distance away. Suspect two and additional stolen lottery tickets are still outstanding.

Suspect one was arrested and booked at County Jail.

Robbery, Concealed Weapon, Committing a Felony While out on Bail or Own Recognizance: 3600 Block of California Street, June 10, 2:21 p.m.

A suspect left a store with several items without paying. When confronted by the store manager, the suspect cursed at him and pulled up his shirt exposing what the manager believed to be a gun (the weapon was later determined to be a large knife).

Arriving officers located the suspect and detained him. A large knife was found a short distance away and matched the description given by the manager. The suspect admitted to the theft and to having the knife.

The suspect was also arrested for looting a nearby grocery store on June 1.

The suspect was arrested and booked at County Jail.

Exhibiting a Firearm, Resisting Arrest, Outstanding Warrants: 1600 Block of Clement Street, June 14, 9:30 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a subject brandishing a gun. Arriving officers located suspect one and ordered him to put his hands up. Suspect one disobeyed all commands, fled back into the residence and refused to come out. 

Several subjects were in the residence and were uncooperative with the police. A critical incident was declared.

Six subjects exited the building on their own accord after about an hour. All were detained and then released.

Suspect two posted to social media declaring if law enforcement came into his house he would “have something for them.” Suspect two was located and detained by officers on the roof of the building.

After further negotiations, suspect one exited the building.

Suspect one and suspect two were arrested and booked at County Jail.
