Robbery, Aggravated Assault: Fulton Street and Masonic Avenue, Dec. 24, 1:07 p.m. 

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a security guard, who stated the subject attempted to leave the store with items that were not paid for. 

The security guard said when they tried to stop and detain the subject, the subject became hostile and refused to return the stolen items. The subject then attacked the security guard. While fighting on the ground, the subject spat blood on the security guard’s face. 

The subject was eventually able to break free from the security guard and fled the scene on foot. When the security guard gave chase, the subject verbally threated to harm the security guard and subsequently threw a brick towards the guard, which missed. 

The subject was pointed out to arriving police officers who took the subject into custody. The subject was later booked at Park Station.

Driving While Under the Influence of Drugs, Hit and Run with Injury, Attempted Homicide,  Assault with a Deadly Weapon: 400 Block of 33rd Avenue, Jan. 1, 2:45 a.m.

Suspect one was driving and hit a parked vehicle. The victim, who was standing on the sidewalk near the incident when it happened, said after suspect one hit the parked car, he revved his engine and intentionally ran the victim over, striking him in the legs and knocking him to the ground. Suspect one then fled the scene.

Suspect one then struck another parked car a few blocks away. Suspect two heard the crash and attempted to stop the driver from fleeing the scene. Suspect two got into his vehicle and gave chase as suspect one fled again.

Suspect two caught up to suspect one, then suspect one crashed for a third time. Suspect two grabbed a construction sign and hit suspect one.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined suspect one was driving under the influence of drugs.

Suspect one was arrested and booked at County Jail on the charges of attempted homicide, driving while under the influence of drugs and hit and run with injury.

Suspect two was arrested and booked at County Jail on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Reckless Evading, Probation Violation,  Possession of Burglary Tools, Speeding, Stop Sign Violation: Clement Street and 29th Avenue, Jan. 9,  10:23 p.m.

Officers observed a traffic violation and pulled over the vehicle. The suspect identified himself and gave his license to the officers. The suspect then suddenly sped away at a high rate of speed, committing several additional traffic violations.

Officers did not pursue the vehicle. They broadcast a description and its direction of travel. 

Richmond units located the vehicle parked with the suspect still inside. A records check revealed the suspect was on probation.

Officers observed an open container of alcohol and a large amount of marijuana in the back seat. A window punch and an unfired cartridge were also found in the vehicle.

Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined the suspect to be under the influence of drugs.

The suspect was arrested and booked at County Jail.

Possession of Stolen Property, Hit and Run with Property Damage: Clement Street and 33rd Avenue, Jan. 15, 4:19 p.m.

An officer was on patrol in an area frequently targeted by auto burglars. The officer observed an orange sports utility vehicle (SUV) driving in the area. The officer had knowledge that the occupants of the Infinity had committed several auto burglaries in the City the day before.

As the SUV drove past the officer’s patrol vehicle, it immediately fled the area at a high rate of speed, overtaking vehicles and committing numerous traffic violations. The officer did not pursue the vehicle but broadcast the vehicle’s description and direction of travel.

The officer located the vehicle abandoned, engine running, in the middle of the road a few blocks away. Witnesses stated the vehicle was involved in a collision with a parked vehicle, and all four occupants fled the scene.

Officers established a perimeter and located suspects one and two. Suspects three and four are still outstanding.

A search of the vehicle located a large amount of stolen property.

Suspect one was arrested and booked at County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and hit and run.

Suspect two was arrested and booked at County Jail on charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and a probation violation.
