Traffic Collision, Hit and Run: 300 Block of Judah Street, Aug. 4, 12:50 a.m.
The victim reported to responding officers that she heard a vehicle crash. When she went to investigate, she discovered that her vehicle had been damaged by another vehicle, the suspect’s, which was parked close by.
The victim attempted to exchange information with the suspect, but the suspect immediately fled the area.
Responding officers located the suspect and after further investigation, the suspect was cited.
Vandalism to Vehicle: 47th Avenue and Vicente Street, Aug. 4, 12:58 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of a suspect who was punching at windows. The victim reported that he observed the suspect throwing a brick at the victim’s vehicle window.
Responding officers located the suspect and detained him.
Further investigation revealed damage to multiple vehicles that were nearby.
The suspect was cited.
Discharge of Firearm: 1200 Block of 46th Avenue, Aug. 5, 3:49 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of an accidental injury caused by a gun. The victim stated that he had been cleaning his gun, which was loaded, when he accidentally pulled the trigger and injured himself.
The incident was investigated and the victim was admonished.
Assault: 3200 Block of 20th Avenue, Aug. 4, 5:19 p.m.
The victim reported to responding officers that he had been walking when three suspect suddenly came up from behind and threw him on the ground before punching and kicking him. The suspects then fled the area.
Theft, Resisting Arrest: 2100 Block of Taraval Street, Aug. 10, 7:46 p.m.
Officers responded to a report a theft. The victim reported that the suspect was observed stealing money from a store. The victim confronted the suspect, who then fled.
Responding officers located the suspect and ordered him to stop but the suspect refused and continued to move away. The officers detained the suspect and, despite the suspect resisting, placed him in handcuffs. The suspect then refused to provide his name to the officers.
After further investigation, the suspect was identified and cited.
Suspended Driver’s License, Methamphetamine Offense: 1400 Block of 46th Avenue, Aug. 12, 7:33 p.m.
Officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle with a registration that had expired in April, 2018. The officers conducted a traffic stop and a computer check revealed that the driver’s license had been suspended.
The driver stated that his paperwork was located inside a backpack and gave them permission to look inside. A search of the backpack revealed the paperwork, along with a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
After further testing and investigation, the driver was cited.
Battery: 1300 Block of Noriega Street. Aug. 17, 12:15 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of a battery.
The victim reported that he was eating at a restaurant when the suspect randomly started up an unwanted conversation. The victim did not want to engage with the suspect and that caused the suspect to angrily push the victim off of his chair before putting the victim in a headlock.
The suspect then fled the area.
Resisting Arrest, Investigative Detention: 4300 Block of Judah Street, Aug. 18, 7:41 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of a fight.
Responding officers arrived at the location and observed the suspect with a glass bottle in his hands. Despite multiple attempts, the suspect refused to heed instructions to place the bottle on the ground and move away from it.
The suspect was subdued with pepper spray and placed in handcuffs. After further investigation, the suspect was cited.
Resisting Arrest, Traffic Violation: Ninth Avenue and Irving Street, Aug. 20, 11:47 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of a suspect who was harassing people.
The suspect refused to heed lawful instructions from officers and walked away.
While attempting to place the suspect in handcuffs, a struggle ensued and an officer was injured.
After further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
Burglary: 1700 Block of 25th Avenue, Aug. 20, 3:42 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress.
The witness stated that the suspect was observed loading items into a vehicle from a house in which the owner had recently passed away.
Responding officers located the suspect and after further investigation, the suspect was arrested.
Battery: 2000 Block of 12th Avenue, Aug. 21, 7:32 a.m.
Responding officers learned from the victim that his dog was off leash when the suspect’s dog, also off leash, began to act aggressively towards the victim’s dog.
The victim told the suspect to get off his phone and to control his dog. The suspect responded angrily and punched the victim on his head before fleeing the area.
Trespassing, Vandalism: 1200 Block of 23rd Avenue, Aug. 21, 9:38 a.m.
Officers responded to a report of an alarm call.
Responding officers located the suspect, who was sitting on a couch inside an apartment. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had recently sold the apartment but, due to deteriorating mental health, believed he was still the owner.
The victim requested to press charges and the suspect was cited.
Discharging a Firearm, Animal Cruelty: Aug. 26, 2100 Block of 40th Avenue, 10:29 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of shots being fired.
The victim reported that she heard six shots fired and discovered a bullet inside her home afterwards.
Officers investigated the incident and determined that the suspect had climbed up a ladder to gain access to the victim’s roof to shoot at a raccoon and one of the bullets had entered the house.
A deceased raccoon was located nearby on the ground.
