Regarding Supervisor Mar’s City Hall column:
Thank you Supervisor Mar for your remarks regarding the green required to build our urban canopy and the green required to provide critical city services for working families and small businesses here in D4.
It is hard to believe that some D4 residents think trees are a luxury. If so, it’s time for a change of heart as more trees need to be planted for all the reasons mentioned in your April 2019 column.
Some may ask where’s the money coming from? You have an answer for that, too; that is, a modest tax on corporate IPOs. Companies doing business in the City must be responsible neighbors and pay their fair share of taxes not only to address income inequities but to help make D4 and the rest of the City a more livable and tree loving urban center.
