Sunset Music and Arts is a yearlong concert series of Incarnation Episcopal Church that features over 40 concerts along with travelogues and workshops/masterclasses. We are in our fifth year. Formed in 2015 by four Bay Area dancers/musicians, Cuarteto Puentes is dedicated to performing Argentine Tango music for dancers and audiences of all kinds. They have studied at Reed Tango Music Institute, Stowe Tango Music Festival, and with top tango musicians including Ignacio Varchausky, Ramiro Gallo, Hernan Posetti, Hector del Curto, Pablo Estigarribia, Emilio Solla, Ramiro Boero, Adam Tully, and Ville Hiltul. Cuarteto Puentes will perform a selection of classic tangos from the Golden Era as well as compositions by Astor Piazzolla including, among others, Organito de la tarde, Comme il faut, El Amanecer, Sur, Ventarron, Nada, Poema, Milonga del Angel, and Oblivion.

Trio Terme was formed last summer at the Interharmony International Music Festival in Italy.  The three performers, all with extensive solo and ensemble experience, were so delighted playing together at Interharmony, that they decided to continue to explore the rich clarinet, cello, piano repertoire. The trio will perform works by Nino Rota, Alexander Zemlinsky, and Johannes Brahms.

join acclaimed pianist, ROBYN CARMICHAEL, at Sunset Music and Arts on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 7:30 pm, for Peers, Friends, Rivals: FOUR ROMANTIC MASTERS. Experience the music of four towering masters of the keyboard: Chopin, Schumann, Liszt and Mendelssohn, in a program highlighting their own unique temperaments, and featuring the magnificent Sonata in B minor, Op. 58 of Chopin and the high-strung and virtuosic Tarantella from Venezia e Napoli of Franz Liszt. Robyn Carmichael’s distinctive style has defined her concerts in the U.S. and Europe. Her past season included West Coast concerts in Seattle, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, a radio interview on Berkeley’s KPFA-FM “Piano” program, and a CD release with music of Scarlatti, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Schumann, de Falla, Tchaikovsky, Bach-Alkan, and Rachmaninoff. Her new 2018 season features East Coast and West Coast tours with all-Russian and all-Romantic recitals, including the virtuosic Tchaikovsky-Pletnev Nutcracker Suite, educational concerts with commentary for libraries and grassroots organizations, a unique Chopin project and a program honoring the 200th anniversary of the legendary choreographer Marius Petipa.
