An Afternoon of Fun at Recess Collective’s Spring Fundraiser
Recess Collective is a non-profit organization hosting their first fundraiser on May 4, 1-5 p.m. It will be an afternoon of family fun including face-painting, live music and children’s activities.
Recess Collective was designed to build healthy families through play, learning and community. It is on a mission to create playful, accessible neighborhood spaces that encourage social interaction genuine and sustainable support and community inclusion. “Recess is so much more than a playspace. It is truly a community anchor in this transient hustle and bustle that is San Francisco,” Owner and Founder Lisa Nowell said. “It’s not just for kids, it’s for parents and caregivers for their own sanity in this crazy parenthood journey.”
The event on May 4 will take place at Recess Collective, 2226 Taraval St. in San Francisco. Local musician, Charity Khan, will be playing live music. Recess was founded in 2008, and in 2018 moved from Potrero Hill to the Outer Sunsetneighborhood in San Francisco. The cornerstone of the center is an open playspace for children 0-4 years old and their caregivers. In addition to play, Recess holds a variety of parent workshops, fitness classes, playgroups and birthday parties. Coming up are Mommy and Baby Pilates classes, Infant, Child and Adult CPR workshops and Intergenerational Playdates.
