Richmond Business News: Zumba with the Wongs

A message to the Richmond Business News from Zumba with the Wongs:

We are pleased to announce that Zumba with the Wongs has just opened up in the Inner Richmond District!

Zumba with the Wongs

While the Richmond District of San Francisco has always been a great mix of the best that San Francisco has to offer, we are pleased to announce that the Wong Dancers are now teaching a beginners and mixed Zumba class right here in the neighborhood.

The Wongs are a native San Franciscan family dating back 30 years, and have been dancing professionally in Chinese folk dance for generations.  Now they are opening up the new Zumba with the Wongs studio to help the Richmond stay fit and feel active with little risk of injury.  Whether you have done a lot of dancing in the past or this is the first time you have put on sneakers, you will find this class energetic and bound to burn some calories.

Wong Zumba is held in the large and lofty Koret Hall at Congregation Beth Sholom, at 14th Avenue and Clement Street.  Even if some gyms and dance studios might feel small to you, or maybe that giant mirror along the front wall might be intimidating, the 1900 square foot Koret hall is always nice and roomy. It is a secure location and easy to get to and park.  Both the synagogue and the Wongs feel that the mix of diverse dance rhythms in the beautiful and spiritual space of the hall celebrates the great diversity and community of the Richmond District.

“You should come and experience it for yourself,” said a frequent participant.  Classes last an hour, 7-8 p.m., and can burn up to 500 calories per visit.

Kevin Wong, lead instructor and choreographer, teaches up to six classes a day, but loves working with the Richmond community and his students here.  The Wongs make a point of ensuring that everyone has fun and uses proper safety precautions – no one is too old or too young for Zumba.

The Wongs are excited about this new partnership with Congregation Beth Sholom and the Richmond community. The class schedule is published monthly.

The next class is Monday, April 1, 2109, at 7 pm.  We look forward to seeing you there!
