Monthly Presidio Greenbelt Clean-Up: The Richmond Neighborhood Center and the SF Recreation and Park Department co-sponsor a community clean-up event on the first Saturday of each month. Artist’s Reception and Exhibit: Carol A. Levy opens her art exhibit with a reception and talk. Her inspiration comes from the natural and spiritual world, the figure form and the human condition. Immigrant Cultural Festival: A celebration of immigrant and native cultures in the Richmond District will be held at a family-friendly event featuring Chinese, Irish, Russian, and Ohlone music, dance, artists and exhibitors, as well as a resource fair, food and more. Book Reading and Cooking Demonstration: Shanta Nimbark Sacharoff will read from her latest book “Cooking Together” followed by a cooking demonstration and food samplings. Registration is suggested. Geocaching 101: Geocaching is a cross between an outdoor hike and a scavenger hunt, except that it is fueled by technology. Great Teen Book Swap: Every Thursday, the teen librarian will bring out several books and allow teens the chance to browse through them for one to keep in exchange for a review of the book by the end of the month. Guided Art Hikes: Visit the Presidio’s four installations by the world-renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy: Spire (2008), Wood Line (2010), Tree Fall (2013), and Earth Wall (2014). The three-mile hike is moderate with a few uphill stretches and includes surfaces that are sandy and rocky. Rain or shine. Registration is required.
