West Portal Library Hosts 3-D Model Events

Two pieces of a Works Progress Administration-era (WPA) 3-D model showing areas near the West Portal neighborhood are on display at the West Portal Branch Library at 190 Lenox Way at Ulloa Street and West Portal Avenue though March 25.
According to Adult Services Librarian, Melissa Riley, the model was placed in the front hallway and “nearly everyone entering the library is stopping to look at it and delightedly share insights with others about it — which is much the point of the Take Part project, a collaboration between SFPL and SFMOMA.”
unnamedThere will be an event on February 23rd and two events on February 24th, one for kids and one for adults.
LivingNewDeal.org scholar Harvey Smith https://livingnewdeal.org/ will be present at West Portal to give a talk about the model on Feb. 24, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
The West Portal Branch, also a product of the WPA, will celebrate its 80th birthday on May 4, with an open house party 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
