New ‘Storm-Water Schoolyard’ Debuts

A new “storm-water schoolyard” has begun operation at Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary School.

The program is a pilot project with the goal of managing rainwater and repurposing some of it for outdoor learning.

The program is a joint operation by the SF Public Utilities Commission and the SF Unified School District.

The debut of the new project was held at Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary School, located at 2051 34th Ave., on Oct. 10. Joining the project’s sponsors were District 4 Supervisor Katy Tang, teachers and students
