Commercial Burglary, Probation Violation: 2600 Block of Geary Boulevard,July 21, 1:39 p.m.

A store’s loss prevention employee observed a suspect cutting a cell phone from a display mount and concealing the item in a bag. The suspect then walked out of the store without paying and was stopped by the employee.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect. A records check revealed he was on probation for a similar offense, so he was taken into custody and booked.

Auto Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property: El Camino Del Mar and 32nd Avenue, July 20, 5:30 p.m.

Officers observed a suspect throwing a backpack out of the passenger window of a rental vehicle. This behavior is common with auto burglary suspects who discard unwanted stolen items.

Officers stopped the vehicle and detained three suspects. They found multiple stolen items and currency in the vehicle. All three suspects were taken into custody and booked.

Hot Prowl Burglary: Sutter and Broderick Streets, July 17, 8:30 a.m.

The victim was asleep in the rear of her apartment when she heard a noise in the living room. The victim got up and saw the suspect in her living room. The suspect pretended she was in the wrong apartment just looking for a friend before fleeing.

The victim discovered her laptop computer and a credit card had been stolen.

Assault on a Police Officer, Theft from Vehicle, Reckless Evading: Martin Luther King Jr. and Hagiwara Tea Garden Drives, July 14, 7:08 p.m.

Officers observed two suspects in Golden Gate Park casing cars in the area of the Japanese Tea Garden. One of the suspects broke into a vehicle and took a backpack out.

When the officers attempted to apprehend the suspects, they tried to flee. While fleeing, the suspect drove his vehicle at a high rate of speed and rammed into the officers’ vehicle to escape.

The vehicle sustained major damage but officers were not injured.

The suspects fled at a high rate of speed while driving recklessly. They are still at large.

Parole Violation, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Concealed, Loaded Firearm, Possession of Firearm by a Prohibited Person: Sutter and Broderick Streets, July 14, 3:49 p.m.

 Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle without license plates. A computer check revealed the driver was on parole with a search condition, so the vehicle was searched and a loaded pistol with a high capacity magazine was located. The pistol was reported stolen.

The driver was arrested and booked.

Rollover Traffic Collision: Cabrillo Street and 24th Avenue, July 8, 5:12 a.m.

A vehicle was traveling westbound on Cabrillo Street when the driver fell asleep and crashed into two parked vehicles. The driver ’s vehicle flipped over, pushing one of the parked cars into a tree, which then fell on top of the second vehicle.

The driver was able to crawl out of the vehicle after the crash. Police and fire officers arrived on the scene and the driver was transported to a hospital.

Burglary, Probation Violation: Unit Block of Point Lobos Avenue, July 7, 4:20 p.m.

Store employees recognized a known shoplifting suspect in the store stealing items again. They advised the suspect to leave, but the suspect refused and began taking more items.

The suspect consumed some items before leaving with the rest of the stolen goods.

Officers detained the suspect and some of the stolen items were recovered. A records check revealed the suspect was on felony probation for a similar offense, so the suspect was arrested and booked.

Structure Fire: Golden Gate Park Golf Course Clubhouse, July 2, 2:30 a.m.

Police officers and fire fighters responded to an alarm call at the golf course in Golden Gate Park because the clubhouse was on fire. Several engines were needed to extinguish the blaze. Arson investigators are exploring possible causes.

Bank Robbery: 300 Block of Clement Street, June 25, 2:02 p.m.

A suspect entered a bank, approached a teller and handed him a note demanding money. The suspect had his hand behind his back as if he were holding a weapon.

“Just do it!” the suspect demanded.

The teller handed the suspect some money before the suspect fled the scene.

Officers canvased the area but where unable to locate the suspect, who is still outstanding.

Hit and Run: Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, June 26, 5:50 a.m.

Golden Gate Park rangers located an unoccupied vehicle inside the Botanical Garden which apparently crashed through the Garden’s north gate. The driver fled the scene.

The vehicle was heavily damaged and smoking, so fire department units responded and extinguished the source of the smoke.
