Retiring Cops Honored
By Capt. Robert Yick
On June 20, Taraval Station hosted a luncheon to celebrate the retirement of five of our members. Combined, the five members have a total of 134 years of service.
Taraval Station would like to congratulate Sgt. Fitzgerald Wong (29 years); sergeant/inspector Theodore Mullin (26 years); Sgt. Kevin Mannix (27 years); officer Robert Chew (28 years); and officer Mary Godfrey (24 years), for their many years of dedicated service. They will be missed and we wish them a well-deserved long and healthy retirement.
I would like to thank SF Supervisor Katy Tang for presenting certificates to the retirees and supporting their hard work. I would also like to thank Deputy Chief Michael Redmond, Commander Ann Mannix and Commander Daniel Perea for attending and showing their appreciation and giving their well wishes.
With just a few days left in June, the incident numbers for burglary and theft from vehicles are down, while we are on par, same as last month, with robberies. The majority of the robberies were business related, late night and most of the remaining incidents were the use of force against loss prevention agents.
Our next “coffee with a cop” will be held in July. Call the station for more information.
The next Taraval Station community meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 17, from 6-7 p.m., at the community room. Last month was a full house. I invite you to attend to hear our latest news or address any new concerns that you may have.
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions that impact your neighborhood, please let me know. You can call me at (415) 759-3100 or email me at Robert.Yick@sfgov.org.
Thank you for your support.
