Model Yacht Club sails into new season at Golden Gate Park

San Francisco Model Yacht Club’s Victoria Fleet hits the lake

The SF Model Yacht Club has opened its summer sailing season, with numerous model yacht enthusiasts taking their model boats out for a journey across Spreckels Lake.

The yacht club is looking for people interested in learning how to sail a model boat on Spreckels Lake. On Wednesdays, members of the public can stop by the SF Model Yacht Clubhouse and borrow a Victoria-class boat to sail with experienced club members acting as advisors.

The Victoria-class boats are the easiest boats to maneuver and some of the least expensive to purchase for potential boating enthusiasts.

Stop by the clubhouse, which is located in Golden Gate Park at John F. Kennedy Drive and 36th Avenue, on Wednesdays, between 12:30 and 12:45 p.m., to get a boat.

For more information, contact Michael Fischer, fleet captain, at fischer@igc.org.
