Crime Rates Dropping
by Capt. Robert Yick
Dear residents and community members:
In comparison to March, the April trend for residential burglaries is down, and auto burglaries are still trending down from last year. Violent crimes are also dropping from the beginning of this year.
As a reminder, please be aware of your surroundings when leaving and returning to your residence. In addition, remember to secure valuables or hard to replace items in your residence.
On Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, Taraval Station will be hosting the first weekend “coffee with a cop” at Henry’s House of Coffee, located at 1618 Noriega St. District 4 Supervisor Katy Tang will also be in attendance.
Please join us for coffee and conversation and get to know your district supervisor and the officers assigned to the Taraval Police Station.
Also, as a reminder, you can attend monthly Taraval Police Station community meetings every third Tuesday of the month, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the station, located at 2345 Taraval St. There, you can hear updates and share any of your concerns about policing or safety issues.
For more information, visit the website at http://www.taraval.org or call (415) 759-3100.
Capt. Robert Yick is the commanding officer at the Taraval Police Station.
