The annual Pacific Orchid Exposition was held at the Hall of Flowers, located in Golden Gate Park, from Feb. 23 through Feb. 25. The theme for this year’s exposition was “Curiouser and curiouser, orchids in wonderland,” which plays off the story of “Alice in Wonderland” and its Mad Hatter tea party. Jimmy said he developed an interest in gardening as a boy working with his father in their vegetable garden. His interest in plants was broadened in junior high and high school by taking numerous classes in horticulture. Photo: John Oppenheimer.
