A plan to rebuild the tennis courts and clubhouse in Golden Gate Park got approved
by the SF Recreation and Park Commission on Feb. 15.
The $26 million project will consist of the rebuilding of the tennis courts, installation
of night-time lighting, construction of a pickleball court and the rebuilding of
the clubhouse. The new clubhouse will include offices, a “tennis learning center,”
classroom space and a recreation area with ping pong table and player’s lounge. Prices
will go up slightly to use the rebuilt facility.
The commission approved $3 million toward the project, with the balance coming
from the Tennis Coalition of San Francisco.
