Two unknown suspects approached a man who was smoking near California
Street and 22nd Avenue on Sept. 6.
As the suspects approached, the victim got scared and started shooting them with pepper
spray. He then tried to run away.
But one of the suspects took out a handgun and shot the fleeing victim.
“I heard shots fired and noticed I was hit,” the victim said.
He was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The assailants, both described as being in their 20s, got into a vehicle and
fled the scene.
