On to next assignment
Dear Richmond District residents and merchants:
It was an honor and pleasure to serve as the commanding officer
of the Richmond Police Station for the past year. Your
support of the officers assigned to your neighborhood resulted in
reduced crime rates and improved the quality of life in the Richmond District.
Overall, we started to see a reduction in auto burglaries, made incredible
arrests of several serial commercial and residential burglars and provided services
to the homeless and less fortunate. We also successfully managed huge crowds of visitors
during the Bay to Breakers race and the Outside Lands Music and Arts and
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festivals.
I want to thank former SF Supervisor Eric Mar, SF Supervisor Sandra Fewer, SF
Supervisor Mark Farrell, as well as all the members of the
Richmond Community Police Advisory Board, Traci Teraoka,
Richmond Station CPAB cochair, David Heller of the Geary
Boulevard Merchants’ Association and Richard Corriea of the Planning Association for
the Richmond (PAR) for their support and commitment to the
safety of everyone in the district.
Finally, I want to thank all of the officers assigned to the
Richmond Police Station for their hard work and dedication to
their community. I was impressed by their unwavering devotion
to serve all of you.
San Francisco Police Capt. Paul Yep has been transferred to
the Central Police Station, where he has taken over as the
station’s commanding officer.
