Owen Smith’s Rossi Pool design proposal was chosen by the SF Arts Commission.
On Nov. 30, the SF Arts Commission chose a proposal by artist Owen Smith to grace a blank concrete wall on the north side of Rossi Pool.
Fifteen artists submitted proposals for the project, with the choices being narrowed down to three proposals, submitted by Kelly Ording, Lordy Rodriquez and Owen Smith.
Smith’s winning mural will “focus on the
youthful joy of children frolicking in a fantasy of underwater life.”
The SF Arts Commission worked with the SF Recreation and Park Department on the art- work project. The panel that chose the artwork was comprised of Michael Arcega, J.D. Beltran, Rafael Gutierrez, Aimee Le Duc and Kirk Robarge.
Rossi Pool is located at 600 Arguello Blvd.
