Art benefits Cabrillo Playground

The Friends of Cabrillo Playground are creating tiles to raise money for new furnishings and fixtures at the playground and clubhouse, including a new ping pong table.

The playground, located on 38th Avenue between Fulton and Cabrillo streets, is currently undergoing renovation and is expected to re-open in June.
The next tile-making workshop will be held at the Richmond Recreation Center, located on 18th Avenue between California and Clement streets, on Sunday, Feb. 3, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tile costs start at $25 and donations of $500 and more will be recognized by an artist-created tile set into a decorative mosaic border.
